[Herald Economy = Senior Reporter Park Jong-il] Seoul’s Seongbuk District, led by Mayor Lee Seung-ro, has given the Seongbuk Smart Fashion Industry Center’s joint retail channel, URZ Shop, a fresh makeover and is debuting URZ’s spring/summer 2026 collection.
Titled Your Dream Land, the collection positions URZ Shop as a creative hub where seasoned sewing artisans and up-and-coming designers from the Young Startup Cube come together to pursue their ambitions. Seven local apparel workshops collaborated on the spring/summer 2026 URZ capsule, producing 24 distinct styles. The collection mixes wardrobe essentials—women’s shirts, jackets, vests, trousers, and skirts—with lifestyle pieces like pajama sets, gender-neutral casualwear, and hobo bags.
This season also brings a visual refresh: a seasonal lookbook plus a five-part episodic video series that goes behind the scenes to tell the stories of the makers and factory floors. Episodes will highlight a craftsman who’s spent more than 40 years perfecting the fit of women’s pants; a tailor mapping out the future of bespoke suits; a father-and-daughter duo carrying on a family trade; and other makers driven by detail and quality.
Additional runs of last summer’s popular Poonggi rayon Lizzo look are already in production, and the line will add sleeveless blouses and tunic-style short-sleeve dresses.
The new arrivals will launch alongside the revamped URZ Shop online store. The refreshed site broadens its selection to include URZ-planned pieces, items from 10 emerging Young Startup Cube designers, fair-trade fashion, and group uniforms.
Yu Ji-yong, president of the Seoul Fashion Textile and Sewing Association, said, “Made-in-Seongbuk craftsmanship delivers outstanding quality recognized both domestically and internationally. We’ll work with the Seongbuk District Office to expand promotional channels and strengthen strategic collaborations to break into overseas markets.”
To celebrate the launch, a promotion runs for one month starting March 25: customers who purchase through the online store, the Naver Smart Store, the Seongbuk Smart Fashion Industry Center’s first floor, or the joint exhibition and sales space S+Lounge will receive a pair of URZ logo socks.
URZ is a Seongbuk fashion co-brand launched in 2016 by the Seoul Fashion Textile and Sewing Association. Since opening in 2021, the Seongbuk Smart Fashion Industry Center has offered integrated support that connects design, production, and distribution for small sewing businesses.
