Netflix’s animated series K-pop Demon Hunters (Kedeheon) scored a major music industry milestone when its original song “Golden” won Song of the Year at the American Music Awards.
The AMA named “Golden,” performed by Korean-American singer EJAE alongside Audrey Nuna and Ray Ami, Song of the Year at the ceremony held May 25 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.
The track beat out nine other nominees, including frontrunner Taylor Swift’s “The Fate of Ophelia,” to take the trophy.
Accepting the award, EJAE said, “This song and the film drew great strength from our fans,” and thanked both the fans and the K-pop Demon Hunters team.
Earlier this year, in March, Kedeheon won Best Animated Feature at the 98th Academy Awards at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles.
It also earned two Golden Globe wins in January — for Best Animated Feature and Best Original Song — and in February became the first K-pop work ever nominated at the Grammys in the Best Song Written for Visual Media category.
The series centers on HUNTRIX, a girl-group of demon hunters, who clash with Saja Boys, a demon boy band that preys on human souls.
Since its June 2025 debut, Kedeheon has been a global phenomenon, amassing more than 500 million views and surpassing Squid Game to become the most-watched title in Netflix history.
