BTS won the top prize at the American Music Awards.

BTS won Artist of the Year at the American Music Awards, one of the United States’ most prominent pop-music ceremonies.
They beat global stars such as Bruno Mars and Lady Gaga to claim the ceremony’s top honor.
After becoming the first K-pop act to win with the global hit “Butter” in 2021, they left another major mark for K-pop with this second win.
Back on the awards stage after five years, BTS thanked their fandom, the ARMY.
Leader RM said, “ARMY, we did it again,” and thanked fans around the world for standing by the group for 13 years.
Member J-Hope added, “I sincerely thank you for cherishing the album ‘Arirang’ and all our songs.”
Jimin said, “Thank you for joining our tour with such passion and for the tremendous love you showed in every city.”
BTS swept three awards, winning Artist of the Year, Best Male K-pop Artist and Song of the Summer for “Swim,” the title track from their fifth studio album “Arirang.”
“Golden,” the OST for Netflix’s animated series “K-Pop Demon Hunters,” won the major categories it was nominated for, including Song of the Year, Best Pop Song and Best Vocal Performance.
Singer-songwriter Lee Jae, who performed the song, said he was speechless and thanked fans.
HYBE’s Korea–U.S. joint girl group Cats Eye underscored their global appeal by winning New Artist of the Year.
