[NewsCulture reporter Park Dong-seon] The K-pop group BTS has spent more than a month occupying the upper reaches of the U.S. Billboard main chart with their fifth studio album, Arirang, underscoring the commanding presence of \”BTS 2.0.\”
On April 27, agency BigHit Music cited a Billboard chart preview, reporting that Arirang landed at No. 4 on the Billboard 200 (May 2 issue), marking its fifth consecutive week in the top five.

Specifically, Arirang moved 62,000 album units — a combined total of pure album sales, SEA and TEA — in the previous chart week. Even in its fifth week after release, it sustained steady consumer demand, demonstrating broad mainstream appeal.
The record both reflects the group’s identity and signals its future direction; its longevity indicates that the new chapter, BTS 2.0, has successfully taken hold in the global music market.
That chart momentum is mirrored by an electric North American tour: 31 shows across 12 cities, all sold out. BTS opened the run in Tampa on the 25th and will continue to demonstrate its global reach — next month they are set to become the first Korean artists to headline at El Paso’s Sun Bowl Stadium.
Meanwhile, alongside the North American tour, BTS is expected to keep setting global records through major awards appearances, including a nomination in the top category at the American Music Awards (AMA) in May.
