LE SSERAFIM has broadened its global reach with the new single “CELEBRATION,” reinforcing the group’s influence through high-profile collaborations.
On May 7, Google unveiled a new Doodle to mark Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander (AANHPI) Heritage Month. Clicking the image launches an animation of people around the world dancing to LE SSERAFIM’s lead single “CELEBRATION” from the group’s second full-length album. The members are Kim Chaewon, Sakura, Heo Yunjin, Kazuha and Hong Eunchae.
Google’s Doodle decorates the search engine’s homepage to mark holidays and historical events. For AANHPI Heritage Month, the company spotlighted K-pop and selected “CELEBRATION” as the animation’s soundtrack — a noteworthy choice given that a global platform made the selection directly.
Released April 24, “CELEBRATION” also featured at Electrik Seoul, a K-pop–meets–EDM party in Los Angeles hosted by Insomniac. Organizers ran LE SSERAFIM’s music video on massive LED screens that wrapped the venue, and the crowd responded enthusiastically.
The group’s second studio album, “PUREFLOW” pt.1, arrives on the 22nd. The record centers on a shift in perspective — the idea that recognizing fear can make you stronger. Ahead of its release, the album surpassed 221,000 pre-saves on Spotify, the global audio and music streaming platform.
Spotify’s pre-save feature lets users sign up for alerts before an album or single drops. Those strong pre-save numbers have heightened expectations for LE SSERAFIM’s upcoming activities.
