[MyDaily = Reporter Lee Seung-gil] Singer Psy is set to reaffirm his standing as the original K-pop icon on a program that highlights the genre’s global reach.
He appears in K-Everything, a new CNN International documentary series that begins airing on the 9th (Korean time).
Hosted by actor-producer Daniel Dae Kim, the four-part series traces the roots and worldwide influence of Korean culture—examining how it has reshaped global trends, from K-pop and television dramas to food and beauty.
Psy sits down with Daniel Dae Kim to discuss K-pop’s trajectory, the rise of global superfans, and his perspective on the forces driving the industry.
On the 6th, CNN released an opening trailer featuring Psy across its official social channels.
The clip captures the full-throttle energy of Psy’s Heumbok Show and includes a striking exchange: when Daniel asks, “How long have you enjoyed the success of ‘Gangnam Style’?” Psy replies candidly, “As a performer, it’s timeless. But as a songwriter, dreams and nightmares coexist. I kept asking myself, ‘How can I make something better than this song?'”
K-Everything, featuring Psy, premieres on CNN International at 9 p.m. on the 9th. The four-part series will stream weekly for CNN International pay-TV subscribers via CNN.com and the network’s connected-TV and mobile apps. In South Korea, the series will be available on Coupang Play; internationally, HBO Max will carry it where the service is offered.
