[NewsCulture reporter Dong-seon Park] Global girl group KATSEYE has cemented its place in mainstream pop, adding an upcoming performance at the American Music Awards to a year that already included a Grammy appearance.
On May 9, HYBE and Geffen Records announced that KATSEYE will join the performer lineup for the 52nd American Music Awards on May 25 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, U.S.

The AMA invitation follows nominations in three categories — including New Artist of the Year — based on album sales and radio airplay. It’s the latest milestone after last year’s VMA win and their Grammy appearance earlier this year.
Their new single, “PINKY UP,” is climbing anglophone charts, while “Touch” and “Gabriela” continue extended runs on Spotify. With more than 33 million monthly listeners and a fanbase approaching 50 million, those figures have been a major driver of the group’s rapid rise.
At the ceremony, KATSEYE will give the U.S. television debut performance of “PINKY UP,” turning those metrics into a live showcase of their growing global influence.
In less than two years since their debut, the group has already played major U.S. awards shows and large music festivals, prompting observers to watch closely to see how far their ascent will go.
Meanwhile, KATSEYE is preparing to release their third EP, “WILD,” in August alongside continued promotions for “PINKY UP.”
