[NewsCulture reporter Kim Ji-yeon] Fans are buzzing after organizers announced a special on-site event tied to the visiting Original Singers concert that brings Studio Ghibli’s moving music to the stage.
The show’s promoter, Coks Co., Ltd., said on its official social channels on May 20 that it will hold a limited event for attendees of The Music of STUDIO GHIBLI Original Singers Symphony. Organizers will select 30 attendees—15 per performance—to receive posters signed by the original singers.

Most notably, this will be the first official visit to South Korea by the original vocalists who recorded the signature songs for Studio Ghibli films, adding special significance to the performances.
The concert will be presented twice on June 6 at Yonsei University’s main auditorium in Seoul. Iconic Ghibli vocalists slated to appear include Sumi Shimamoto (Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind), Yumi Kimura (Spirited Away), Yoshikazu Mera (Princess Mononoke) and Azumi Inoue (My Neighbor Totoro). They will be accompanied by the Tokyo Asia Orchestra, which will provide sweeping live arrangements that aim to recreate the films’ emotional resonance.
Studio Ghibli, led by the internationally renowned director Hayao Miyazaki, has built a global following with its feature films. From the beloved My Neighbor Totoro to numerous other hits, the studio’s work continues to enjoy enduring popularity.
