[TV Daily Reporter Kim Han-gil] Global girl group KATSEYE continues to notch steady gains on key Billboard charts in the United States.
On May 19 (local time), Billboard’s latest chart dated May 23 placed KATSEYE’s \”PINKY UP\” at No. 76 on the Hot 100. The single has remained on the chart for five consecutive weeks after peaking at No. 28 on the April 25 chart. Two songs also placed on global charts. \”PINKY UP\” reached No. 80 on the Global 200 and No. 96 on the Global Excl. U.S. chart. \”Gabriela,\” released last June, appeared at No. 134 and No. 132 on those charts, respectively, extending its long run. The group’s album performance has been consistent as well. Their second EP, BEAUTIFUL CHAOS — which includes \”Gabriela\” — climbed to No. 136 on the Billboard 200, marking its 46th straight week on the chart. The album peaked at No. 4 in July of last year and is No. 44 this week on the Top Album Sales chart. Beyond chart positions, KATSEYE is building global momentum. The group recently surpassed 10 million followers on Spotify and took home both a Webby Award and the People’s Voice Award at The Webby Awards. They are scheduled to attend the American Music Awards at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on May 25 (local time). Nominated in three categories, including New Artist of the Year, the group is also slated to perform. KATSEYE was launched as a global girl group through a collaboration between HYBE and Geffen Records. Based in the U.S., they have broadened their reach since debut, performing at major festivals such as Coachella and Lollapalooza. They plan to release their third EP, WILD, in August.
