By Han So-hee, MyDaily — Singer Jeon So-mi opened up about what I.O.I.’s reunion has meant to her.
On May 18, the YouTube program ‘Jjanhan-hyung Shin Dong-yeop’ brought together I.O.I members Kim Chung-ha, Jeon So-mi, Choi Yu-jeong and Yoo Yeon-jung. They reflected on the group’s 10th anniversary and shared behind-the-scenes stories about reuniting.

The members noted that I.O.I’s original run lasted only about nine months and spoke frankly about lingering regrets. Jeon So-mi quipped, “I’m so relieved we reunited. If we hadn’t met again, that regret would have stayed with me for life.” She added that the feeling was so strong it seemed it would follow her even as a spirit, underscoring how deeply she cares for the group.

Yoo Yeon-jung agreed, saying the fans’ enthusiastic support can feel like pressure, but they channel that into positive energy. She added that the members are preparing so meticulously they sometimes wonder whether they’re going too far.
The group also revealed that, for the first time in their 10-year history, I.O.I now has an official fandom name: Angdungi. The members said they had long regretted not having an official fandom name or a proper cheering culture, and they see this comeback as a chance to make up for that.
They shared that rehearsals have grown more emotional. Yoo Yeon-jung said the members cry easily these days, especially Choi Yu-jeong and Jeon So-mi. Jeon So-mi noted that when one person starts to cry in the practice room, others often follow, a sign their sensitivity has deepened.
Choi Yu-jeong said she still can’t believe the moments they’ve dreamed about for so long are actually happening, and that gratitude often brings her to tears.
