[Sports Today reporter Yoon Hye-young] Lucy — the four-piece band making its KSPO DOME debut — delivered a career-defining performance that left little in reserve.
Lucy (Shin Ye-chan, Choi Sang-yeop, Jo Won-sang, Shin Kwang-il) played the second show on the final day of their solo concert, 2026 LUCY 9TH CONCERT ISLAND (hereafter ISLAND), on the 17th at KSPO DOME in Olympic Park, Songpa‑gu, Seoul (formerly the Gymnastics Arena).
The appearance marked Lucy’s first time at KSPO DOME and showcased the band’s steady, stepwise rise. From Blue Square Mastercard Hall to Jangchung Gymnasium and Ticketlink Live Arena, the group expanded its venues and ticket demand at each stop. They sold out all eight concerts leading up to this run in record time, underscoring their drawing power. The KSPO DOME shows also reunited the band’s full lineup after Shin Kwang‑il’s military discharge in March.
ISLAND extended the story begun with LUCY ISLAND, carrying a message that scattered petals return to the island and wash everything in light.
That night, Lucy mounted an ambitious, large-scale show that underscored their wide musical range and vibrant bandcraft. They performed the title track from their recent second full-length album Childish, “All Ages,” alongside songs such as “Sprout,” “Chameleon,” “Flowering,” “But, Seriously,” and “The Undying Knight and the Silk Cradle,” delivering a set that felt both expansive and emotionally charged.
Choi Sang‑yeop impressed with piercing, high-range vocals, while Jo Won‑sang spun and played bass in a commanding show of stagecraft. Shin Ye‑chan and Shin Kwang‑il kept the momentum with fervent, precise instrumental work.
The crowd responded with sustained cheers. Choi reflected on the energy of the final performance: “Compared with yesterday, tonight—the final show—definitely feels different. I love the buzz that comes with a finale. From the first song I couldn’t contain my excitement; I thought, ‘This is what we’ve been running toward.’ We’ll show you what a finale is. We’ll show why the final night matters.”
He added, “On a final night you don’t have to worry about the clock. Even if you go home early, your sleep time is about the same. The night is long. Yesterday was three and a half hours—maybe we can stretch to four hours tonight,” he said, brimming with enthusiasm.

The setlist included solo turns. Shin Kwang‑il left the drum kit to move across the stage and showcase his vocals on “Every Little Detail.” Shin Ye‑chan traded his guitar for a tender rendition of “Little Star.” Jo Won‑sang appeared in a suit and sang “Porch Light” into a standing mic. Choi Sang‑yeop, in sporty attire, delivered an energetic take on “Little Star,” giving the crowd a high‑voltage moment.
Production choices heightened immersion. Lyrics were projected during several numbers to encourage sing‑alongs, and the massive screen behind the stage split into four panels to show each member close up, improving sightlines for the audience.
The stage itself favored fan interaction: a protruding section opened and lifted like Tetris blocks, and the drum kit — normally fixed center stage — rolled out on a drum cart that extended into the audience, drawing attention and applause.
The members kept the evening light with frequent banter. After performing “When Dawn Breaks,” Jo Won‑sang explained that the song is technically an OST and originally had only one verse; the concert featured a second verse available exclusively that night. Shin Ye‑chan revealed some behind‑the‑scenes discussion: they thought the extra verse suited the band and had asked not to hand it off as an OST. Jo replied that the song was too challenging to promote continuously; it would have been exhausting to perform it all the time. Shin laughed that he wasn’t the one struggling, so he was fine.
Choi teased a future idea — “How about a five‑minute violin solo?” — and Shin dismissed the notion as potentially dull, prompting playful heckling from the crowd and promises to “ask around” about other options. The members then coaxed the audience for playful gestures.
Shin Ye‑chan obliged with a playful, “Mom, Dad, please close your eyes,” and offered a bit of aegyo (cute fan service). That sparked an aegyo parade: Choi requested, “Mom, Dad, cousin—close your eyes,” and gamely delivered his own charm. Jo quipped, “Everyone except my parents, close your eyes. Mom, I love you. Dad, I love you,” and followed with an affectionate flourish.
Choi mused about learning from one another: “That’s a friend living life to the fullest. We watch and learn. As Kwang‑il turned 30, we all turned 30. We shouldn’t be blocked from doing silly things, but sometimes it happens. When it does, we look to Won‑sang and remember our original spirit. We’ve been a band for six years, and in many ways we haven’t changed that much.” Shin Ye‑chan added with a laugh that he was nearly 30 at debut, “so maybe I’m still in that original spirit, too.”
Shin Kwang‑il answered fans calling his name with his own aegyo: “You wanted to see aegyo, huh? You could have said so. Oh—you did say so. Then he playfully asked officers in the audience to close their eyes and performed to the crowd’s delight.”
Near the end of the show, the members thanked the audience: “We want to give the applause to you. This was historic.” Jo Won‑sang thanked fans for filling every show through the finale.
Choi closed by saying, “As you could feel watching this concert, we literally poured everything into it. We packed it so full that there was no time to be bored. There was fun to watch, fun to listen to—nothing to miss. We’re grateful everyone, including those standing, enjoyed it so much.”
