[SPO TV News = Reporter Kim Won-gyeom] Park Minsu moved viewers with a performance steeped in longing on ‘Unknown Legends.’
Park appeared on MBN’s trot audition program ‘Unknown Legends — Trot Men’s Hierarchy War’ on May 13 and took the stage for the finals’ second round, the “Song of a Lifetime” mission.
Before the final, Park met with Min Su-hyun and Kim Jung-yeon. The two stepped in as his staunch supporters, campaigning and cheering for him in person.
Park spoke candidly about the realities he faced after reaching the top seven on ‘Burning Trotman’ and the hardships of remaining relatively unknown. “I thought getting into the top seven would mean an easy road ahead,” he said. “I stayed busy with performances and radio, but as time passed I felt like nothing remained, and I felt small.”
He added, “My father told me he wanted me to prepare to become a police officer again. I can’t even pay my rent,” revealing the financial strain and doubts about continuing as a singer. Still, he confessed, “I competed as part of the ‘famous’ team, but I remember being loved more than anyone, and that longing drives me.”
For his next stage, Park selected Jeong Eui-song’s “Eung-eori.” He vowed, “Doing ‘Unknown Legends’ made me realize how difficult and demanding singing is. This period felt like growing pains. I will pour my desire to be loved and my urgency into the performance.”
On stage, Park drew viewers in with heartfelt emotion and a noticeably deeper vocal power. His weighty, cathartic delivery laid bare the struggles he’d carried, leaving a lasting impression.
After the performance, Park said, “It was a great honor to share my voice on such an amazing stage.” He looked to his family in the audience and wiped away tears. He moved many when he told his father, “I want to make sure you can live the rest of your life comfortably because of me.”
Responding to the performance, Shin Yu praised him: “He’s bright and full of energy. I felt heavy knowing he suffered a lot during ‘Unknown Legends,’ but watching the final stage, it seemed like he released all that burden. It’s clear Park Minsu grew a step through this performance.”
Finishing in eighth place, Park left a strong impression on viewers with his evident growth. He plans to remain active and continue engaging with his fans.
