[Sports Today reporter Kim Tae-hyung] By keeping a long-held promise to a devoted fan, singer Song Ga-in moved viewers — and helped a video on her official YouTube channel surpass 1,000,000 views for the first time.
On May 9, her agency JG Star said the video — titled “Song Ga-in Surprises a Diehard Fan by Crashing Her Wedding! A Special Celebratory Song Just for the Bride,” which the ‘Song Ga-in’ YouTube channel posted on March 30 — passed 1,000,000 views that day. It’s the channel’s first video to reach the milestone.
The clip drew attention because it does more than document a celebratory performance. It shows Song Ga-in fulfilling a promise she made to fans before she became famous. On the fan cafe “Again,” she had pledged, “I’ll sing at the first fan who gets married.”
Even after rising to the top of the music scene, Song Ga-in did not forget that vow. She rearranged her schedule, secretly attended the fan’s wedding and staged a surprise that organizers likened to a 007 operation.
The footage even shows Song Ga-in taking a cheongsimhwan — a traditional calming pill — to steady her nerves. She slipped in during the congratulatory speeches, startling the bride, who broke down in tears at the unexpected moment. Song Ga-in, too, was visibly moved, her eyes welling up and touching everyone present.
She then performed “Sarangga” and “Gasibeosi Sarang” to celebrate the couple’s new start. Her heartfelt set and the warm atmosphere struck a chord with many viewers.
After logging her channel’s first 1,000,000-view video, Song Ga-in plans to continue engaging fans with a variety of content and new music.
