[SPOTV News — Reporter Choi Sin-ae] Chef Kim Si-hyun offered public support to Chef Ahn Seong-jae as he faces a period of intense scrutiny.
On May 6, Ahn Seong-jae issued a personal apology over allegations that wine vintages were swapped at his fine-dining restaurant, Mosu Seoul.
He posted the apology on his personal account. Kim Si-hyun — who rose to prominence as \”Baby Beast\” on Netflix’s Black & White Chefs Season 2 — quietly liked the post to signal his support.
On April 21, a post on an online forum alleged that a wine vintage had been swapped at Mosu Seoul, sparking controversy. The restaurant issued a public apology on April 23, but as criticism continued, Ahn released a more detailed statement on May 6 to explain the situation and clarify his position.
Ahn wrote, \”I sincerely apologize once again for the inadequate service at Mosu that caused disappointment. I offer my deepest apologies to the customers who were particularly let down by this incident.\”
He also sought to correct misunderstandings, saying, \”We should have prioritized a clear explanation and a sincere apology, but we failed to do so, and some comments were inappropriate.\” He added that the restaurant has asked the sommelier involved to submit a written report under company policy and has removed him from the role responsible for handling customers’ wines.
Ahn pledged to strengthen oversight to prevent a recurrence and closed with another apology: \”On behalf of myself and Mosu, I sincerely apologize for disappointing you.\”
