At the April 11 ceremony in Kyung Hee University’s Peace Hall in Hoegi-dong, Seoul, Choi accepted a Top 10 award, confirming his status as one of trot’s breakout stars.
The K-Trot Grand Awards honor trot artists and works that won the public’s favor between 2025 and February 2026. Choi was among those recognized with the ceremony’s main prize: a Top 10 award, given to the year’s leading trot performers.
\”I never dreamed I’d receive such a wonderful award,\” Choi said. \”I hadn’t prepared remarks, but once I got onstage I thought of so many people I’m grateful to. Above all, I love our SuBangSa (Suho Defense Command), my official fan club — I owe everything to them. I’ll remain humble and keep working hard.\”
Alongside his acceptance speech, Choi energized the audience with a passionate set. He opened with a cover of veteran singer Nam Jin’s \”Nim Gwa Hamkke\” (\”With You\”), then performed the title tracks from his first and second mini-albums: \”Kkeutkkaji Ganda\” (\”Going All the Way\”) and \”Keungeo Onda\” (\”Something Big Is Coming\”).
On stage, Choi combined powerful vocals with showy choreography. On \”Kkeutkkaji Ganda\” he unleashed an energetic delivery over a driving arrangement, projecting strong charisma. On \”Keungeo Onda\” he turned up the heat with an exuberant performance built on punchy EDM beats and lively dance moves, reviving the ceremony’s energy.
Choi will co-headline a nationwide tour called \”Fly With\” with singer Hwanhee, his stage partner from last year’s MBN series \”Hyun-yeok Gawang 2.\” The tour stops include the Gyeonggi Arts Center Grand Theater in Suwon on May 24–25, the Aram Theater at Goyang Aram Nuri on June 13–14, and the Cheonma Art Center in Daegu on June 19–20, where he will meet fans across the country.
