[EPN Enpinow reporter Go Nari] YG Entertainment plans to debut a new five-member boy group this September.
On the 30th, YG posted an interview with chief producer Yang Hyun-suk on its official blog, outlining projects slated for the second half of the year.
Yang confirmed the company will unveil the new group this fall and that it will consist of five members.
The act will be YG’s first boy group in six years. Unlike Treasure’s large lineup, YG is positioning this new unit as a compact, elite ensemble designed to showcase each member’s personality and skills.
Yang said the company will gradually release more details about new artists and intellectual property, and signaled plans to build a strong rookie roster that will include a tentatively named girl group, “Next Monster.”
This year YG has scheduled album releases from BabyMonster and Treasure, along with a world tour for Big Bang as the group marks its 20th anniversary. With veteran acts active and several new groups preparing to debut, 2026 could be a pivotal year for the label.
