[Sports Today reporter Kim Tae-hyung] Byun Woo-seok proved he can hold his own on variety TV.
The April 11 episode of MBC’s \”Hangout with Yoo\” brought together the Comma Club lineup — Yoo Jae-suk (Pae Organ), Haha (Old Seokbakji), Heo Kyung-hwan (Sweat), Joo Woo-jae (Lee Yoon-seok) and Jung Joon-ha (Riverside) — for a spring gathering in Gangnam that also introduced new member Byun Woo-seok.
During the meeting, Byun adopted the nickname \”Byeonsan Tower.\” Noting his height, Haha suggested the 63 Building, and Yoo joked they might as well call him Namsan Tower. Byun responded, \”Then Byeonsan Tower?\” and the name stuck.
The group went out to eat and ordered budae-jjigae. Byun said he usually enjoys tteokbokki and instant noodles.
He admitted he hadn’t had breakfast because he was nervous — it was his first time at the gathering. When Jung Joon-ha asked how many meals he eats a day, Byun quipped, \”Three. When I’m working it’s three; when I’m not, ‘ikki’ — two.\”
Jung said he only eats one meal a day, and Byun jokingly asked, \”Twenty-four hours?\” which drew laughter. Yoo praised Byun, saying Byeonsan Tower has a subtle knack for teasing people — and does so kindly.

Meanwhile, Yoo asked Byun which high school he attended. Byun said he went to Ushin High School, which is in Onsu. Jung quipped, \”(Onsu — so) the neighborhood must be warm,\” a remark that briefly chilled the atmosphere. Jung then reached for a large bite of the ramen, but the others stopped him.
Heo Kyung-hwan asked, \”Is this déjà vu? Didn’t we just have something like this?\” Jung explained he just wanted the ramen to cook a bit more. Heo clicked his tongue in admiration, saying what really impresses him is that Jung never knows when to give up.
