[Sports Today reporter Jeong Ye-won] Kim Geon-woo of boy group Alpha Drive One (AD1) has issued an apology.
On April 8, Kim posted a handwritten apology to his official social media accounts.
In the post he wrote, \”I want to apologize to the fans who support us, the Alpha Drive One members who always work by my side, the on-site staff who work hard, and all the staff who support us. My immature words and actions caused concern and showed a disappointing side of me.\”
He added, \”I want to apologize again to everyone who was hurt by this incident. I never take the great love I have received since before our debut for granted. Still, my immaturity led me to act in ways that contradict my promise to repay the fans who support me. I am disappointed in myself and I regret my behavior.\”
He continued, \”Through this incident, I have come to deeply realize how foolish my behavior was and how much I still need to grow. From now on, I will act responsibly at every moment, reflect deeply, and take care to make sure this does not happen again. I will take time to look back on myself and work to return as a more mature person.\”
The apology follows reports that Kim made inappropriate remarks to staff while fulfilling a schedule, which sparked controversy. The agency had not commented for an extended period, but announced on the day of the apology that Kim would be temporarily suspended from activities. As a result, Alpha Drive One will continue promotions as a seven-member group for the time being.

First, I want to apologize to the fans who support us, the Alpha Drive One members who always work with me, the on-site staff who work hard, and all the staff who support us.
My immature words and actions caused concern and showed a disappointing side of me.
I want to apologize again to everyone who was hurt by this incident.
I never take the great love I have received since before our debut for granted.
Still, my immaturity led me to act in ways that contradict my promise to repay the fans who support me. I am disappointed in myself and I regret my behavior.
Through this incident, I have come to deeply realize how foolish my behavior was and how much I still need to grow.
From now on, I will act responsibly at every moment, reflect deeply, and take care to make sure this does not happen again.
I will take time to look back on myself and work to return as a more mature person.
I apologize to everyone once again from the bottom of my heart. I’m sorry.
Sincerely, Kim Geon-woo
