Why Comedian Lee Soo-ji’s Fake Documentary on Kindergarten Teaching is Captivating 1.31 Million Viewers

[Sports Today reporter Im Si-ryeong] Comedian Lee Su-ji’s mockumentary about a kindergarten teacher is drawing widespread attention online.
On April 7, Lee uploaded a video titled The Never-Ending 24 Hours of Kindergarten Teacher Lee Min-ji to her YouTube channel ‘HotIssueJ.’
The short film features Lee in a sketch role as Lee Min-ji, a kindergarten teacher.

Arriving early that morning, Lee greets the children as “so, so cute and so lovable,” then adds, “I’m single by choice.”
She adjusts her delivery to a lower, more controlled “sol” tone to answer parents’ complaints that she seems lethargic. She also smiles through requests from some parents asking the school to replace its thin, cheap wipes with ones that contain eucalyptus.
When another parent asks, “Have you been to Apgujeong Rodeo recently? Aren’t you the type who goes to clubs?” Lee deflects with a light denial, saying she was simply out buying butter tteok (a Korean rice cake) because it was so tasty.
Later, Lee recounts to the producer that a teacher in their Neulbom class once started dating and went for a one-night, two-day stay at a pool villa in Gapyeong. Because the mothers weren’t informed, Lee says, they received calls all night. “We should have told them in advance — it was a communication failure,” she admits. When the producer raises the possibility that sharing such details could be an invasion of privacy, Lee replies, “You must never think that way,” though she nods with a rueful expression.
A moment in the film emphasizing blood trickling from Lee’s ear also caught viewers’ attention.
Since the video went live, comments have flooded in, with many viewers saying it exposes the raw realities of Korea’s childcare system and calling it “less comedy than documentary.” The clip has also been widely discussed in online parenting communities and has surpassed 1.31 million views.
