[Sports Today Reporter Kim Tae-hyung] Studio Realive, a subsidiary of SM Entertainment, has named Kim Jong-min its new CEO as the company accelerates its enter‑tech push.
On April 7, SM Entertainment said in an official statement that Studio Realive promoted its chief creative officer (CCO), Kim Jong-min, to the role of chief executive officer.
Kim co‑founded GiiOii Studio, served as an XR curator for the Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival, worked as an adjunct professor at the Korea National University of Arts, and was a full‑time instructor at the Korea Creative Content Agency’s New Content Academy. He joined Studio Realive as CCO in 2024.
As CCO, Kim forged partnerships with Meta, Google DeepMind and Moment Factory, and led immersive space and content projects that embedded advanced technologies and strengthened the platform’s competitive edge. Colleagues say his combined experience as a producer and curator has allowed him to strike a consistent balance between artistic integrity and commercial viability.
SM Entertainment said it plans to leverage those strengths to reinforce Studio Realive’s business foundation, ensuring that innovative media projects can scale into sustainable ecosystems.
Studio Realive is an enter‑tech company that blends K‑pop with AI and XR to design next‑generation entertainment experiences. Drawing on SM Entertainment’s IP and worldbuilding, the company aims to build a content universe that invites fans to participate as co‑creators — accumulating new experiences and advancing narrative arcs to establish a new entertainment paradigm.
