[Sports Today reporter Song Oh-jung] TV host Lee Hwi-jae drew attention when he took his seat at the MC table on KBS2’s Immortal Songs.
On April 4, KBS2 aired the second part of the 2026 \”Entertainment King\” competition on Immortal Songs.
With a roster full of top-tier entertainers, the show buzzed with quick-witted exchanges. As conversations grew louder and the studio became noisy, Moon Se-yoon called out, \”MC — can you sort this out?\” and looked to Kim Jun-hyun.
Kim Jun-hyun quietly stood, walked over to Lee Hwi-jae and asked, \”Sir, could you sit over there and manage it, please?\” Lee, seated at the MC table beside Lee Chan-won, looked briefly bemused before shouting, \”Let’s start with three rounds of applause!\” which immediately calmed the room.

He then smoothly steered the show forward by asking how viewers felt about the earlier performance by the musical \”Haig\” team. Fellow cast members praised the move, commenting that this role suited him well.
Lee also lightened the mood by teasing, \”Sorry, can we turn the volume up a bit?\” while miming a volume-raising gesture over Hong Seok-cheon’s head.
Earlier, Lee appeared in part one of the program, marking his return to activities after roughly four years. Reflecting on that airing, he said, \”I was lacking, I fell short, and I made mistakes. I know better than anyone what I did wrong. I can’t turn back time, so the only thing I can do is give my best to what’s given to me now.\”
