[Sports Today reporter Im Si-ryeong] As NCT member Mark departs the group, fellow member Doyoung has shared his thoughts.
On April 3, Doyoung posted a lengthy message to his social media story saying he had decided to understand everything his beloved bandmate Mark is feeling and to support him without reserve.
He added that while he cannot speak for Mark, he would be truly grateful if people would listen to Mark’s longstanding sincerity and concerns without prejudice.
Doyoung acknowledged that fans likely won’t see NCT127 with Mark for the time being. He said that if the day comes when they can reunite, the group will prepare and plan thoroughly. He promised that NCT127 will not be “NCT127 minus one.” As they pledged to their fans—known as NCTzens—they will remain a team that takes pride in any formation and will not deliver performances that lack that pride.
He warned that rumors or doubts about the relationship between Mark and the other members would bring unbearable sadness and a sense of injustice, and he pleaded with fans to let them preserve the special bond they’ve built with supporters over 10 years.
SM Entertainment earlier that day announced it had ended Mark’s exclusive contract and would conclude his activities with NCT. The company said NCT 127 will continue as seven members — Johnny, Taeyong, Yuta, Doyoung, Jaehyun, Jungwoo and Haechan — and NCT DREAM will continue as six members — Renjun, Jeno, Haechan, Jaemin, Chenle and Jisung.
