[Sports Today reporter Lim Si-ryeong] Comedians Jang Dong-min and Lee Yong-jin explained why they signed on to Betting on Facts.
On March 26, Wavve held an online press conference for its new original survival series, Betting on Facts. Attendees included PD Kim Min-jong; comedians Jang Dong-min and Lee Yong-jin; professor Jin Joong-kwon; broadcaster Jung Young-jin; singer–actor Ye-won; political YouTuber Hellmouse; former Democratic Party Supreme Council member Park Seong-min; and former People Power Party spokesperson Kang Jeon-ae.
Betting on Facts is a reality-news game show in which eight contestants live in isolation and assess the veracity of news items in an era saturated with misinformation.
At the event, Jang said appearing on a survival-style program felt daunting at this stage of his career, but the concept—testing the truthfulness of news—piqued his interest because it was a format he had never tried. He added that it also felt like a chance to put other skills to the test.
Lee explained that he has read a print newspaper every morning for about three years. After developing a deeper appreciation for the written word, the opportunity felt almost serendipitous—a sign he should do it. He said he followed his instincts to participate and was confident the show would be a way to test his own mental acuity.
Wavve will premiere Betting on Facts at 11 a.m. on the 27th.
