[Sports Today reporter Lim Si-ryeong] In TV CHOSUN’s divorce-focused reality series X’s Private Life, Park Jae-hyun watches his ex-wife Han Hye-joo’s new life unfold and reacts sharply, saying, “It makes me feel sick just thinking about it.”
The second episode of X’s Private Life, which airs on the 24th, features actor Park Jae-hyun—once dubbed the “Jang Dong-gun of Surprise”—joining the studio to follow the post-divorce daily routine of X, his ex, who is 16 years his junior.
In a pre-taped segment, Han Hye-joo begins a modest but warm day in a neat apartment with her young daughter. Kim Gu-ra admires, “She’s living so well,” and Park Jae-hyun adds fuel to the conversation by revealing, “That’s the place she moved into after the divorce — I went there myself.” But when Jang Yoon-jung offers an offhand comment while watching the mother and daughter’s calm morning, Park erupts, “It makes me feel sick just thinking about it,” freezing the studio.
After dropping her daughter off at daycare, Han heads to another residence. To everyone’s surprise, she appears in a hanbok, prompting curiosity. When the camera reveals her standing before a secluded shamanic altar in a private room, Jung Kyung-mi blurts out, “Your job is…?” Han explains, “This is the shindang where I work,” and shocks the cast by announcing she has been working as a shaman since the divorce. Park admits she told him about receiving the shindang calling a year after it happened, while Cheon Rok-dam responds, “Wow,” clearly at a loss for words. Han adds that the shindang came to her at the same time as the divorce and that she sees the split as part of the process that led her to this path.
After revealing her unexpected profession, Han goes on an X-arranged blind date with a handsome divorced man whose looks could rival an actor’s. Watching them, Park registers a subtle expression when he notices the suitor’s demeanor — a contrast to Park’s own past admission that he lacked in certain ways during his marriage — drawing attention to the complex emotions beneath the surface.
Episode 2 of X’s Private Life airs tonight (the 24th) at 10 p.m.
