[Sports Today reporter Lim Si-ryeong] tvN’s Unni’s Direct Delivery in Calape debuts amid a mangrove wetland.
The original Unni’s Direct Delivery is a variety show that follows a range of seaside jobs and highlights seasonal dishes you can only find in those communities. Its wholesome, family-style chemistry has endeared the program to viewers.
The Calape-set spin-off gathers Yeom Jung-ah, Park Jun-myeon, Dex and Kim Hye-yoon in an exotic locale, promising fresh dynamics among the cast.
A first teaser released on the 19th drops viewers into the heart of a Philippine mangrove and immediately raises questions. In the clip, the four are caked in mud and visibly exhausted. When a local asks, “Are you OK?”, a weary Yeom Jung-ah replies, “No,” underscoring how intense the situation is. Dex, who notes he was in Korea until yesterday, admits the experience feels surreal.
Park Jun-myeon and Kim Hye-yoon’s stunned reactions only deepen the intrigue. Toward the end of the teaser, the group cries out, “This isn’t right” and “Don’t ever make us come back,” prompting viewers to wonder why they went into the mangroves and what grueling work awaited them.
In just 15 seconds, the clip teases multiple highlights and builds anticipation: the sight of Yeom Jung-ah and Park Jun-myeon tackling punishing labor, and the chemistry between the show’s new youngest members, Dex and Kim Hye-yoon.
tvN’s Unni’s Direct Delivery in Calape premieres Thursday, April 16, at 8:40 p.m.
