Jung Joon-ho offered some candid advice to a citizen who was showcasing their talents.
On the 10th, the YouTube series “Mental Studio – Frustrating Pocha” featured actors Jung Joon-ho and Shin Hyun-joon opening a pop-up bar in Samcheok, Gangwon Province, where they listened to locals’ vexing stories.
Kim Sun-hee, a 20-year veteran city employee, shared her dilemma. She explained, “I’ve never switched careers, and after years in the same role, I’ve hit a professional plateau. I’ve considered a career change before it’s too late, but my husband is significantly older—11 years my senior. Even though I’m contemplating a job switch, my husband, also a civil servant, is nearing retirement. Our child will be starting middle school when he retires.”
Shin Hyun-joon responded, “That’s a very real-world problem.” Jung Joon-ho advised, “I think you should explore other options while keeping your current job. Try to find something you’re passionate about in your free time.”
Shin Hyun-joon then suggested, “Why don’t you show us your talents by deciding whether to take a break from your civil service job?” The guest confidently stood up and began dancing enthusiastically to the music, bringing smiles to everyone’s faces.

Jung Joon-ho shared his honest opinion, saying, “After seeing your brief dance performance, I think you’re better off sticking with your civil service job.” His blunt comment drew laughter. He continued, “I can see you’re confident performing in front of others. If you apply that confidence to your social interactions, you’ll surely succeed. But if you’re thinking of entering the entertainment industry with this? That’s going to be an uphill battle.” His candid remarks elicited more laughter from the audience.
