Global performance running and lifestyle brand Saucony has released the short film The Runners, reaffirming its central philosophy: Run as One. The film highlights the human connections forged through running and the meaningful role that community plays in those bonds.
The Runners is a meditative short that stitches people, products and the small moments surrounding running into a single flowing narrative. It acts as a visual tribute to Saucony’s long-standing, community-first values and to the culture of running itself.
The film debuted in a private world premiere at Metrograph in New York on Feb. 27, where brand partners, creative collaborators and community members gathered to view the film and reflect on its message.
Gus Johnston, Saucony’s global creative director, said he wanted to capture “the quiet power of the connections people form when they come together.” He described the film as more than a marketing piece—rather, a reflection of the brand’s identity. The Runners weaves together the elements that make up Saucony’s community—products, events, running crews and collaborative projects—into a single symbolic story, underscoring the brand’s emphasis on connection, purpose and a consistent approach to running culture.
Rob Griffiths, Saucony’s global brand president, said that Run as One is not merely a slogan but the standard guiding product innovation, community initiatives and brand storytelling. He added that the film is ultimately about how running builds relationships and communities, and the energy that propels them forward. The Runners marks the next chapter of Saucony’s Run as One platform, which has steered product development, community engagement and the brand’s content strategy.
Founded in 1898, Saucony bills itself as the original running brand and offers a range of running and lifestyle products powered by proprietary technologies such as PWRRUN™ PB, PWRRUN+™ and SPEEDROLL™. The company says its mission is to inspire better lives through running culture, self-expression and a positive impact on the world. The Runners is available to watch on Saucony’s global YouTube channel.
