Tips for Cleaning Your Hair Dryer!
Most of us use a hair dryer every day. It’s a convenient appliance — hot air dries hair quickly. But do you ever clean yours? I learned the hard way when dust inside a dryer I hadn’t cleaned for years actually caught fire. Regularly removing built-up dust is important for safety.

This is our hair dryer. The rear shows a bit of rust.

# Opening the Hair Dryer Cover
At the air outlet you’ll find a removable cover.
Remove that section and clean the dust filter thoroughly.

The filter keeps dust out of the motor, but if you neglect it, debris can compact and eventually cause the dryer to malfunction.

Start by using a cotton swab to loosen dust from the outlet.

That’s a surprising amount of dust!

If your filter is washable, rinse it under running water several times; the dust should come out easily.

After rinsing, dry the filter completely in a cool, well-ventilated place. Once it’s fully dry, reinstall it and you’re finished.

Keep your hair dryer clean so it runs reliably and safely.
