Lee Jae‑hyun (pictured), chairman of CJ Group, visited The CJ Cup Byron Nelson in McKinney, Texas, to assess the company’s global strategy. He chose the United States as his first overseas destination this year, a move that appears aimed at expanding CJ’s business in America.
CJ Group said on the 26th that Lee toured the K‑lifestyle pavilion, the House of CJ, at the center of the course on the 23rd, and visited the Bibigo and Olive Young booths. At the site he said, “We must develop The CJ Cup into more than a golf tournament — a platform where people in the U.S. can experience and enjoy K‑lifestyle firsthand.”
Now in its 10th year on the PGA Tour, The CJ Cup ran from the 21st to the 24th and drew about 240,000 spectators — a tournament record — over four days.
CJ Group styled the venue like a theme park showcasing K‑food, K‑beauty and K‑content. The House of CJ expanded by about 20% from last year to roughly 750 square meters (about 8,073 sq ft).
