Samsung Electronics drew a strong crowd to its Galaxy Watch Run @ Safari event at Everland, wrapping up the running event with high participation. The event highlighted an integrated healthcare experience—linking Samsung Health with the Galaxy Watch to cover everything from running to sleep and condition management.
Held on the 17th, this year’s Galaxy Watch Run @ Safari was the event’s second edition. Samsung expanded the program from last year and drew about 1,000 participants. Interest was intense during registration, with roughly 95 applicants competing for each available spot.
Participants ran a 4.82 km (about 3 miles) course that wound through Everland’s Safari World and Lost Valley. The route included a section typically reached only by vehicle; for this event, runners traversed it on foot, creating a distinctive safari-running experience.
Under the concept \”Start your run with the Galaxy Watch, perfect it with Samsung Health,\” the event gave attendees hands-on access to the Galaxy Watch8 series and Samsung Health’s wellness tools. Before the run, participants used the coaching feature to assess their running level, analyzed sleep patterns with sleep coaching, practiced logging runs, and measured antioxidant indices to help manage their condition.
On the day of the event, Samsung Health ambassador and former national marathoner Eunju Kwon led a training session. Wearing Galaxy Watches, participants monitored heart rate and split times through Samsung Health in real time, adjusted their pace, and experienced personalized running features.
Samsung awarded all finishers commemorative medals modeled after the Galaxy Watch8 and provided Everland admission tickets. The program also featured a congratulatory performance by Samsung Health ambassador Sean, a best-dressed award, and a lucky draw.
Park Jung-mi, vice president and head of Samsung Electronics Korea, said the event was designed to let people experience everyday health routines—running, sleep and condition management—using the Galaxy Watch8 series and Samsung Health. \”We will continue to expand programs so customers can try watch-based healthcare features easily and enjoyably,\” she said.
