[EPN Enpinow reporter Go Nari] Comedian Ji Sang-ryeol drew widespread sympathy after speaking candidly and pragmatically about his girlfriend’s menstrual cycle.
In a video posted May 1 to the YouTube channel ‘Short Gynecology,’ Ji sat down with obstetrician-gynecologist Dr. Kim Ji-yeon to discuss women’s health.
On the program, Dr. Kim said she had invited Ji because she felt he could benefit from a primer on women’s health. Ji responded, \”There’s no harm in knowing ahead of time,\” and welcomed the opportunity.
When the discussion turned to how he behaves during his girlfriend’s period, Ji quipped, \”You should just stay quiet. Don’t be overly stimulating,\” drawing laughter with his trademark humor. He added that \”being cautious is basic\” and said he’s heard of partners who stay home and keep things low-key when needed. Dr. Kim commended his understanding of the situation.
Ji is publicly dating show host Shin Bo-ram, who is 16 years his junior. On a recent broadcast, Shin said meeting Ji prompted her to consider marriage seriously for the first time.
She suggested they could marry next spring, adding, \”My boyfriend feels the same.\” She also said they’ve discussed the possibility of an autumn wedding — comments that have focused attention on the couple’s future together.
