Namyangju will mark Youth Month with a wellness-focused cultural festival aimed at teens worn down by school and career concerns.
Officials announced May 12 that the youth cultural festival OFFLINE will be held May 23 at the Jeong Yak-yong Library and Dasan Cultural Park.
The event, themed “Turn Off Busyness, Turn On Leisure,” runs from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Organizers say it is intended to give teens weighed down by academic and career pressures a chance to step away from daily life, relax and have fun.
The program opens with a performance by youth musical troupe Easy C Theater, followed by awards recognizing outstanding and model youth. Celebratory acts will include b-boy crew Gambler Crew and artist Gaogai.
Outdoor booths, planned and run by teens, will offer hands-on activities focused on rest and stress relief — from a stress‑relief punch game and DIY healing drinks to an air-glider workshop.
A beanbag- and mat-strewn outdoor area will host youth-club performances, allowing audiences to enjoy music and shows in a relaxed setting.
On the first-floor lobby of Jeong Yak-yong Library, a “Visiting Dokdo Digital Experience Center” will provide interactive exhibits about Dokdo and its history, and invite reflection ahead of Patriots and Veterans Month in June.
“We hope this gives young people a chance to set aside daily stress, rest and enjoy themselves,” a city official said. “We will continue working to build a city where young people take the lead and can genuinely feel happy.”
