[Herald Economy — Son Mijeong] Actress Ki Eun-se, who faced criticism over what neighbors called a disruptive renovation, acknowledged the complaints and vowed to “take extra care and manage the situation to prevent any inconvenience to neighbors until the work is finished.”
On the 7th, Ki Eun-se’s agency, Surfprime, said in a statement that about two weeks ago it learned renovation work at the villa where she plans to move had prompted complaints from some residents about parking and cleaning. The agency said it apologized to the residents who raised concerns and completed neighborhood cleanup efforts.
The agency added that it acted quickly to address vehicle access issues and that crews continue to clean the site and surrounding area daily to maintain cleanliness.
According to entertainment reports, a user identifying as a family member of a Pyeongchang-dong resident posted on an online community that neighbors have been affected by Ki Eun-se’s home renovations.
The poster wrote, “They say Ki Eun-se is moving into the neighborhood where my parents live and has been renovating for months. Construction vehicles have taken over the alley, making it difficult for even one car to pass. There’s construction debris and dust everywhere, and they’re not cleaning properly.”
The poster added that the work, originally expected to finish in mid-April, is still ongoing and criticized what they described as “a sense of entitlement that assumes neighbors must sacrifice because she’s a celebrity.”
In response, Ki Eun-se’s team said it has been communicating with residents about the disruption and plans to complete the work without further complaints.
The agency said, “Since the complaint surfaced, we have maintained ongoing communication with nearby residents and coordinated to prevent further inconvenience related to the move and construction. The work is now proceeding without additional complaints.”
It added that the contractor has been in steady contact with residents and pledged to monitor and manage the site more carefully until the project is finished. The agency apologized for causing concern and asked for the public’s understanding.
