How Seragem’s Pauze M8 Fit Art Edition Transforms Relaxation into a Gallery Experience

Adding Art to Massage Chair Technology
“Offers a Gallery-Like, Sensory Rest Experience”
Ceragem is folding art into its massage chairs, reframing household appliances as elements of interior design and spatial experience. The company wants the chair to be more than a device — to act as a centerpiece of a room dedicated to rest.
On May 5, Ceragem unveiled the Pauze M8 Fit Art Edition—Secret Garden, an iteration that pairs the Pauze M8 Fit with a commissioned artwork. The Pauze M8 Fit supports interchangeable side covers, which Ceragem is using as the platform for these art collaborations.
In an interview with the Seoul Economic Daily, Seo Ho-seong said she aimed to evoke a private, restorative moment “as if you’re alone in a secret garden.” She added that the piece was intended to integrate naturally into a living space rather than read as a mere massage chair. Critics and company officials say Ceragem’s effort to expand the product into a spatial concept is reflected in the work itself. Seo trained in fashion design and marketing in France and worked as a marketing director at L’Oréal; she draws on that experience in projects that intersect product and brand.
The artwork depicts men, women, children, pets and natural elements. People and animals suggest varied lives and viewpoints, while nature ties those threads together, emphasizing coexistence. Seo said she wanted to portray a healing space within the family unit — a place that holds and renews relationships among different beings. Her bold palette helps create a sensory, gallery-like atmosphere for relaxation.
The Pauze M8 Fit offers interchangeable side covers in a range of colors and designs, letting users set the mood they prefer. Ceragem plans to build on that modularity and position the product as a tool for shaping interior atmosphere.
The collaboration is notable because Ceragem moved the partnership from concept to product. The company says it will broaden such artwork collaborations to create more points of contact between the brand and consumers. A Ceragem spokesperson said, “The Pauze M8 Fit Art Edition—Secret Garden is our first instance of extending a collaboration with an emerging artist into a retail product. We will continue to expand the Pauze M8 Fit into lifestyle areas that reflect artistic tastes.”
Ceragem is previewing the product and taking preorders at a popup store in Hyundai Department Store’s Apgujeong branch through the 10th. The company will continue preorder sales at offline retail channels through June and plans an official release in July.
