Free Karaoke for Youth: Join the ‘Uiwang Gawang’ Challenge and Unleash Your Talent!

Uiwang’s Kkum Nuri Cafe youth center announced on May 4 that it will offer young people opportunities to relieve stress during Youth Month in May.
The cafe will run a monthlong free coin-karaoke promotion through May 30, operating simultaneously at all Kkum Nuri branches — Gocheon, Naeson, Ojeon and Baegun Valley.
Young people ages 11 to 24 are eligible. Visitors in that age range may use the coin karaoke free of charge during the event.
The initiative goes beyond free access: organizers are pairing it with “Uiwang Gawang,” a short-form online challenge that taps into current youth trends.
Participants can record videos of their performances at the free coin-karaoke booths and submit them; a foundation panel will review entries and select winners.
An official at the café said, “We hope young people will take full advantage of the Kkum Nuri Cafe coin karaoke to relieve stress during Youth Month. We also hope the event brings more young people into the cafe to enjoy a variety of cultural experiences.”
Uiwang City’s Kkum Nuri Cafe is a culture space for young people. In addition to coin karaoke, it offers Nintendo game consoles, a board game zone, a four-shot instant photo booth and a small library, among other facilities, all open for youth to use freely.
The event aims to help young people live healthier, more active lives by giving them opportunities to relieve stress and try cultural activities.
