[EPN Enpinow reporter Go Nari] Ballet has recently become a favored hobby among female celebrities.
On April 26, Suzy posted photos to her account showing her fully immersed in ballet practice. Wearing a white top and light-pink leg warmers, she struck flexible poses, including a wide-legged stretch, and the images quickly drew attention.
She told a recent TV program that she’d heard people say she helped kick off the “ballet-core” trend and that ballet has helped shape new fashion sensibilities. Suzy said she began studying ballet to build the stamina and improve her posture for shoots, and she emphasized that it has benefited both her acting and her overall health.
Park Ji-hyun also shared new photos taken in a ballet studio on her social channels, revealing a different side of herself. Observers noted the studio appears to be the same one Suzy uses.
On a variety show, Park admitted she had once been severely obese and said steady ballet practice helped her reach her current weight. She credited ballet with playing a major role in her weight loss.
Girls’ Generation’s Seohyun offered another glimpse of the trend with photos in ballet attire. In January she shared images showing her focused on ballet, noting how it has helped her build strength and maintain her figure.
With several female stars turning to ballet for fitness and a more polished look, the dance form is emerging as a new trend.
