Pocheon Urban Corporation’s Women’s Center is launching a series of seasonal, hands-on workshops aimed at increasing community participation.
Moving beyond the regular class schedule, the new programs emphasize collaborative, hands-on creation and shared enjoyment. Organizers say the workshops offer both leisure and learning through experiences that are hard to come by in everyday life.
In May, the center will host a natural-dye workshop where participants use plant-based materials to create their own curtains. Attendees will learn the dyeing process and come away with a practical home accessory.
June’s lineup features family-friendly activities. Parents and children can decorate mini cakes with a Taegeukgi motif and try Shanghai-style butter rice cakes, giving families a chance to spend time together and make special memories.
The center is also expanding longer-term courses for students seeking sustained instruction. The acrylic painting class, for example, has been extended to 14 weeks, offering systematic training from fundamentals to completed works.
Registration is open through May 8 and is available online, by phone, or in person. Course fees range from 10,000 to 60,000 KRW (approximately $7.50–$45.00); materials are charged separately.
