TODAY KOREA — Seung-ri Seo | Hana Bank is hosting an event for young Go players to mark Family Month in May.
Hana Bank said on April 21 it will hold the Children’s Go Festival on May 9 at the University of Seoul’s Centennial Memorial Hall.
The festival will welcome about 1,000 young players across 13 skill-based divisions — from a top championship and a dan (black-belt) division to beginner, intermediate and advanced groups, plus a kindergarten division for preschoolers.
To mark Family Month, the bank is planning several family-friendly activities, including a fan signing with Go master Lee Chang-ho. The event will also feature an interactive booth from the youth financial education platform “Ibuja.”
A bank spokesperson said, “We organized the festival so that children—who will lead the future—can develop creativity and critical thinking through Go and gain learning opportunities through friendly competition. We hope the festival will serve as a stepping stone in their growth and create happy Family Month memories for families.”
