[SPOTV News=Reporter Kim Hyun-rok] \”I won’t date a man who wants to split the bill,\” she says.
On the NaSolSaGye segment \”Solo Guesthouse — One More Special,\” 24th-season contestant Sun-ja lays out her views on dating to 18th-season contestant Yeong-ho.
The April 16 episode of SBS Plus and ENA’s I Am SOLO: Love Continues After (NaSolSaGye) follows experienced single contestants into their second dates and features a two-on-one outing with 18th-season Yeong-ho and Sun-ja from the 24th and 25th seasons.
That day, Yeong-ho takes 24th-season Sun-ja — a committed vegetarian — to a Jeju sea-snail noodle restaurant. Over the meal, the conversation turns naturally to relationship expectations. Yeong-ho asks, \”Have you ever suddenly lost feelings like that, even when you really liked someone?\”
Sun-ja from the 24th season replies firmly, \”I would never date a man who says, ‘Let’s split the bill.’\”
The 25th-season Sun-ja offers a cautious counter: \”Maybe he just means, ‘You paid last time, so it’s your turn this time’?\” But the 24th-season Sun-ja insists, \”Some people insist on alternating who pays. It’s not that I refuse to pay — I just expect the other person to take responsibility more often.\”
Watching the exchange, MC Defconn adds that Sun-ja doesn’t necessarily mean the partner should always cover the bill; rather, she dislikes a strict, 50-50 split that treats everything as exactly even.
The 24th-season Sun-ja continues, \”If we’re still seeing each other and he says, ‘You pay,’ I think, ‘This person doesn’t even try to impress me.’\”
Yeong-ho breaks the tension with a bit of theater: \”Why are you so worked up? Wasn’t that just a few days ago? Sorry — I’ll send the money back,\” he jokes. When asked how he feels, Yeong-ho says he loses interest when someone treats his kindness as a given. \”If I see that, I move on,\” he says. The other Sun-ja nods knowingly, and viewers will be watching to see how Yeong-ho behaves after the two-on-one date.
