With unmistakable signs of spring arriving at the end of March and temperatures climbing, the rush to swap out seasonal wardrobes is in full swing. Everyday basics like T-shirts suffer from frequent washing, so shoppers often buy in bulk or swap them out regularly. But with clothing prices on the rise, that habit is starting to pinch budgets. As peak outing season approaches, retailers are sharpening their basic apparel lines—offering more fabric and fit choices while lowering price barriers—to capture spring customers.

Asung Daiso has launched BASIC HOUSE PLUS+, a new line from specialty fashion brand Basic House, as part of a push to strengthen its apparel category.
To appeal to younger shoppers who prioritize personal style, the line expands a core element of clothing—fit. Options now range from a body-skimming regular fit to a roomy relaxed fit and a cropped silhouette that emphasizes the waist. For consistency and to reduce skin irritation, the collection uses 100% cotton across the range.
The collection was planned by organizing fabrics according to yarn count—the thread thickness that defines a T-shirt’s weight and feel (higher numbers mean finer yarn and a lighter fabric). Fabrics vary from soft, lightweight 30-count to a sturdier, less transparent 16-count. The 30-count cotton regular-fit crew short-sleeve tee offers a classic silhouette, designed to work both on its own and layered under shirts.
For fans of layered looks, there’s a 30-count cotton layered crew short-sleeve tee with a slightly longer hem so the T-shirt edge peeks out naturally beneath sweatshirts or hoodies. For those who prefer a heavier-hand fabric, the line includes a 16-count high-density cotton relaxed-fit crew tee: the thicker material helps the garment hold its shape and can subtly improve how clothes sit on the body.

Color options stick to wardrobe essentials—white, black, dark gray, and navy—while adding tones like light beige and mint to broaden the palette. Unisex styles are offered in sizes corresponding to domestic standard measurements from 95 to 105.
The women’s range follows current trends with shorter lengths. A women’s 20-count cotton regular-fit crew short-sleeve tee is made at a medium weight to reduce sheerness and be worn on its own. The women’s 20-count regular-fit cropped crew tee finishes above the hips to flatter proportions when paired with high-waist bottoms. Alongside neutrals, women’s colors include pastels like light yellow, pink, and light blue, and sizes are available from 90 to 100.
This move goes beyond supplying household staples—it’s a strategic play to gain credibility through collaboration with an established fashion brand. By combining Basic House’s expertise in making everyday apparel with Daiso’s fixed-price retail network, the companies aim to expand their reach among value-conscious consumers during a period of high prices. Asung Daiso says it will continue to source brand-quality apparel that offers strong value and grow the product lineup.
