[Sports Seoul | Reporter Jo Seon-woo] Tony Moly’s sub-brand Bonsep has officially launched in 1,700 stores run by Japan’s largest drugstore chain, the Welcia Group.
Welcia posted roughly ¥1.285 trillion (approximately $8.61 billion) in sales for 2024 (about 12.1 trillion KRW (approximately $9.08 billion)). The chain sells healthcare, beauty, and food products across Japan.
The debut includes four Japan-exclusive Bonsep gift sets focused on retinol and vitamin C. Tony Moly says the Welcia listing will help boost global awareness of its high-performance, budget-friendly K‑beauty line and bring the brand closer to more shoppers.
A Tony Moly spokesperson said, “We will aggressively expand into multiple global markets starting with Japan this year to establish ourselves as a value-oriented K-beauty brand.” blessoo@sportsseoul.com
