[MyDaily = Reporter Lee Ji-hye] “Have you ever seen Astro Boy?” “I watched it on YouTube. It’s so cute—I like it.”
On March 26, Kim Su-jin, a woman in her 40s, stopped by the Diadora Atom pop-up on the 8th-floor Void Zone of Shinsegae Department Store in Gangnam. She struck up a conversation with someone who looked like a college student in their 20s—surprised that someone born in the 2000s would know the Atom cartoon she remembered from 1990s TV.
Atom has clearly crossed generations, evoking wide nostalgia and shared memories. After the strong response to last October’s first collaboration, Diadora is running the pop-up from March 26 through April 8.

The pop-up showcases 11 pieces: graphic short-sleeve tees, sleeveless tops, woven jackets, eco totes, socks, and baseball caps that rework Atom’s original archives with fresh, vintage-inspired graphics.
A Diadora representative said the pop-up offers a sneak peek ahead of the official launch, explaining, “We reinterpreted Atom with a vintage sensibility and aimed to weave nostalgic cues that connect different generations.”
