Musinsa Retail Service, the subsidiary that runs Musinsa’s brick-and-mortar stores, has signed a memorandum of understanding with the Korea Employment Agency for the Disabled to boost employment opportunities for people with disabilities.
On the 24th, Musinsa Retail Service and the Korea Employment Agency for the Disabled formalized the MOU at Musinsa’s headquarters in Seongdong-gu, Seoul. The agreement aims to build a sustainable employment model for people with disabilities that fits the fashion and retail industries.
Under the agreement, the two organizations will collaborate on ▷ expanding ongoing hiring ▷ strengthening job stability ▷ creating disability-friendly work environments ▷ and running awareness campaigns to improve perceptions around hiring people with disabilities.
The Korea Employment Agency for the Disabled will analyze Musinsa Retail Service’s business structure to identify roles suited to people with disabilities and provide tailored recruitment and vocational training. Based on that support, Musinsa Retail Service plans to hire people with disabilities in areas such as fashion and IT planning, logistics operations, and retail store management.
Musinsa Retail Service also plans to set up a Fashion & Retail Job Experience Center inside a training facility for people with developmental disabilities in Incheon. The center will give job seekers hands-on experience and help create a foundation for training skilled professionals.
Musinsa Retail Service said, “This agreement is meaningful because it creates environments where people with disabilities can demonstrate their talents in core fashion-industry roles,” and added, “We will expand this hiring model across Musinsa affiliates moving forward.”
