[The Public=Yang Won-mo] On the 20th, LF’s global sports brand Reebok introduced the Club C Loafer — a hybrid that blurs the line between dress shoes and sneakers. The shoe targets men in their 20s to 40s who want one pair that handles both the commute and everyday life.
This model is a Korea-only special model (SMU), created to reflect local consumer lifestyles.
Reebok grafted a 1930s-style penny loafer upper onto the sole of its flagship sneaker, the Club C 85, which has sold over 150,000 pairs. The result keeps the comfort of a sneaker while offering the polished look of a classic dress shoe.
The design borrows key loafer details: the coin slot that once held a 1-cent piece is rendered in gold-foil print, and the U-shaped stitching is raised for added depth. The uppers come in suede and synthetic leather options.
Reebok’s aim is to attract shoppers who find sneakers too casual and dress shoes too formal, positioning loafers as the ideal middle ground.
After the Club C 85 reissue in October 2022, roughly 70% of buyers were in their teens to 30s. Reebok hopes the Club C Loafer will act as a bridge, letting sneaker-savvy younger customers naturally adopt business-casual and smarter looks.
To coincide with the launch, Reebok also released a 26SS lookbook in collaboration with menswear brand BON. The campaign pairs tailored styling with loafers to showcase fresh ways to move between the office and everyday outfits.
