On June 1 (KST), U.K. outlet Tottenham Hotspur News reported that Kolo Muani will leave Tottenham this summer after an underwhelming loan spell.
The France international can play across the front line, operating as both a central striker and out wide. Despite a strong, physical frame, he combines pace and agility and excels at running in behind defenses.
After joining Eintracht Frankfurt in the summer of 2022, Kolo Muani burst onto the scene in 2022-23 with 23 goals and 14 assists. He also played a key role as France reached the final of the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
That form earned him a move to Paris Saint-Germain ahead of the 2023-24 season for €95 million (about $101.65 million, roughly 168 billion KRW). He never fully secured a starting spot at PSG and was loaned to Juventus midway through last season.
Kolo Muani regained momentum in Turin, scoring 10 goals in 22 appearances, and arrived at Tottenham on loan this season to help plug the attacking gap left by Son Heung-min’s move to LAFC. However, his time at Spurs proved disappointing: he finished the campaign with just 5 goals and 4 assists in 41 appearances, and managed only 1 goal and 1 assist in Premier League action.
Given those numbers, Tottenham have opted not to pursue a permanent deal. The report noted the forward didn’t make enough of an impact to justify a full transfer.
PSG have also categorized him as surplus to requirements and are preparing to sell. The outlet says Kolo Muani is expected to return to PSG before the club looks to offload him, and Serie A side Juventus are reportedly interested in re-signing him.
