AThis beautiful modern house was redesigned for a couple planning their second act after retirement, and its elegant, refined interior is impossible to ignore. Located in Taipei, Taiwan, the design team transformed a 35 pyeong (about 1,246 sq ft) older apartment into a chic, comfortable sanctuary tailored to the couple’s lifestyle. The result is a cozy, upscale home that celebrates their everyday happiness.

The sun-drenched main area acts as the home’s heart, where the living room and kitchen flow together naturally. The interior’s clean white and cement finishes are balanced with warm natural wood floors, and layered, thoughtful lighting gives the space a modern, luxe atmosphere.

Anchored by a feature wall of soft curves and integrated lighting, the living room is populated with carefully chosen designer pieces—including Italy’s Driade Roly-Poly chair—placed with balance and intention. The space reads as a luxe-modern living room that’s as stylish as it is welcoming.
