Translation result.BTS, nominated in three categories including Artist of the Year, will attend the American Music Awards in Las Vegas on the 25th, prompting early speculation about whether the group can win the top prize again five years after their last victory. AMA announced on the 20th (local time) that BTS will appear at the ceremony at MGM Grand Garden Arena. This will be their first in-person AMA appearance since 2021. Their Artist of the Year nomination puts them in contention for the event’s highest honor. They are up against a strong field of nine artists or groups, including Bad Bunny, Bruno Mars, Taylor Swift and Lady Gaga. In 2021, BTS became the first Korean act to win that award, a milestone in global pop. The group also received nominations for Best Male K‑Pop Artist and Song of the Summer, bringing their total to three. The Song of the Summer nod went to “SWIM,” the title track from their fifth full-length album ARIRANG, released March 20. The nominees list, announced April 14, included the track — its nomination less than a month after release underscored the song’s rapid, worldwide resonance. To date, BTS has collected 12 AMA trophies across group and solo categories. Their first AMA came in 2018 as Favorite Social Artist, a title they held for three consecutive years through 2020. In 2019 they won Tour of the Year, highlighting their influence on live performance. That year also marked the start of a run in Favorite Duo or Group — Pop/Rock; BTS topped that category for four straight years through 2022, becoming the most-awarded artist in its history.
