[MyDaily = Reporter Kim Jin-seok] “GOLDEN,” the theme song from Netflix’s animated series K-Pop Demon Hunters, won Song of the Year at the American Music Awards (AMAs).
“GOLDEN,” performed by Korean-American artists Lee Jae, Audrey Nuna and Raye Ami, beat nine other nominees at the AMAs on the 25th (local time) at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, including entries by major artists such as Taylor Swift and Ales Warren.
After the win, Lee Jae and Raye Ami came onstage and said, “It feels like we’ve properly closed a chapter. We’re so grateful to the K-Pop Demon Hunters team.”
K-Pop Demon Hunters, which premiered last June, follows Huntrix members Lumi, Mira and Joy — a K-pop girl group — as they battle Saja Boys, an evil boy band that preys on people’s souls. The series collected multiple honors: it won animation and original song awards at last year’s 83rd Golden Globe Awards, took an O.S.T. award at the 68th Grammy Awards, and in March won Best Animated Feature and Best Original Song at the 98th Academy Awards.
