BTS won the American Music Awards’ top honor, Artist of the Year.
They beat several of pop music’s biggest names to take the prize.
It’s their second time winning the award; they first won in 2021, becoming the first K-pop act to do so.

BTS was named Artist of the Year at the American Music Awards, one of the major award shows in U.S. popular music.
They prevailed over global stars including Bruno Mars and Lady Gaga to claim the ceremony’s highest accolade.
This is their second overall AMA win—after the global hit “Butter” earned them the honor in 2021—and it represents another milestone for K-pop’s presence on the international stage.
RM / BTS: ARMY, we did it again! We’re honored to receive this precious award now that we’ve all completed our military service.
J-Hope / BTS: Thank you for loving the album ‘Arirang’ and all our songs.
The award came just over two months after the group reunited for a full-group comeback in March—their first full-group return in three years and nine months.
BTS left the ceremony with three trophies, including Best Male K-pop Artist and Song of the Summer for “Swim,” the title track from their fifth studio album, Arirang.
“Golden,” the original song from Netflix’s animated series K-Pop Demon Hunters, continued its winning run.
It captured every major category it was nominated in, beginning with Song of the Year and including Best Pop Song and Best Vocal Performance.
HYBE’s Korea–U.S. joint girl group Cats Eye took home three trophies—confirming their global reach—including New Artist of the Year and Best Music Video for their hit “Nalli.”
Yoon Chae / Cats Eye: I’m so grateful to share this moment with the members…
As K-pop acts further established their presence at the show, TWICE—who have been growing in popularity across North America—won Best Female K-pop Artist.
