[Sports Today reporter Kang Tae-gu] Kim Hye-seong (Los Angeles Dodgers) went 0-for-2 and couldn’t help his team avoid defeat.
On May 23 (Korean time) at American Family Field in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Kim started at second base and hit ninth in the Dodgers’ road game against the Milwaukee Brewers in the 2026 Major League Baseball (MLB), finishing 0-for-2.
After recording a hit against the San Diego Padres on May 21, Kim was held hitless and was eventually replaced in this game.
His season batting average dropped from .269 to .264 (28-for-106).
In the top of the third with two outs and nobody on, Kim faced Brewers starter Logan Henderson and chased an inside cutter, grounding out to second.
In the top of the fifth, with the Dodgers trailing 0-5, Kim again swung at Henderson’s cutter and struck out swinging.
Milwaukee turned to left-hander Shane Drohan in the top of the sixth, and Drohan worked through the seventh.
A left-handed batter, Kim was lifted for Miguel Rojas in the top of the seventh with no outs and runners on first and second in a scoring opportunity.
The Dodgers were unable to rally and fell 1-5.
The loss left Los Angeles at 31-20, preserving their lead in the National League West. Milwaukee remained atop the NL Central at 30-18.
Dodgers starter Justin Robleski lasted five innings, allowing eight hits (one home run), two walks and five runs while striking out four, taking his second loss of the season to fall to 6-2.
Shohei Ohtani provided a spark, going 1-for-3 with an RBI and a walk, but couldn’t alter the outcome.
Brewers starter Logan Henderson was sharp, tossing five scoreless innings with two hits allowed, seven strikeouts and three walks to earn his second win (2-1).
